Our charter school has been a blessing to our family! I couldn’t imagine my kids going anywhere other than a charter school, from smaller class sizes and the continuous communications from the school and teachers, to all the sports and activities my kids can enjoy!
My kids have had the chance to join school sports teams, which they wouldn’t have been able to do at public school. Our charter school requires that the kids wear uniforms, that is by far one of the best benefits of charters. The school can make decisions like these that match the values our family holds. This is unlike public schools which are limited by a board and rules that minimize the importance of family values.
Parents need choices so they don’t feel helpless when trying to help their children and can’t because teachers in public schools don’t even have time to meet with parents or respond to emails.

All families have different values, different structures, and different needs. Limiting the ability for a family to choose when looking for the best type of education is very frustrating. You feel very defeated and powerless towards a system that doesn’t have your child’s best interest at heart. A system that won’t fire bad teachers is infuriating. A system that won’t limit classroom sizes is ridiculous. Both teachers and students stand to lose. Parents need choices so they don’t feel helpless when trying to help their children and can’t because teachers in don’t even have time to meet with parents or respond to emails.
